Environment vs Print Longevity
Modern inkjet pigmented inks provide excellent print permanence. The new generation Epson P-Series inks are even better, providing extraordinary print permanence up to 200 years. That being said, various environmental conditions can affect the longevity of fine art prints. If you are interested, good reference information on print permanence is at http://www.wilhelm-research.com

A quick story. An customer recently printed some images on his Epson 9900 using a 100% cotton fine art paper from a
legendary inkjet media manufacturer . This particular medium is considered as arguably one of the finest papers in the industry. Moreover the paper did not have optical brightener agents (OBAs). When delivered, the prints sat in a drawer in the original packaging with acid free tape and acid free tissue. Surprisingly, after several months the prints completely yellowed - oh my goodness! The prints actually had a very faint scent similar to the air freshener flavor and the likely culprit was chemical residue/exposure from the air freshener in the room. Environmental contaminants from cleaning solutions and ozone are two of the most common root causes of accelerated print degradation.

Upon further investigation, we checked Wikipedia and found there that air fresheners can contain adsorbents, oxidizers, surfactants, and disinfectants. Some can also contain ingredients including fragrances, aerosol propellants, and solvents such as mineral oil, 2-butoxyethanol, and other glycol ethers. Some air freshener products emit allergens and toxic air pollutants including benzine, formaldehyde, terpenes, styrene, phthalate esters, and toluene. Are you kidding! Wikipedia outlines even scarier ingredients in some air fresheners. Any one of these contaminants, or a combination of, could be responsible for this yellowing issue, notwithstanding health concerns. All from a seemingly innocuous air "freshener" (the name even sounds clean). Sometimes wouldn't you like to see someone go to jail?

The above is just a real time incident to illustrate a point. Most home, business, museum and gallery environments are probably just fine for displaying prints. However, always be aware of humidity, UV/light, ozone, and contaminants in the air and surrounding environment, so you don't get bitten in the butt. Ouch.
