This photo is of a homeless man who lives off Rainier Avenue in Seattle near Beacon Hill. I lived by there
and saw him every time I got off the highway on my way home. I could see the anguish in his face and I knew
I wanted to take a picture of him, I was just a little uneasy about how to approach him. One day I finally
decided to just ask him if I could take his picture in exchange for some money or a meal. He was so kind
and was more than willing to let me take his photograph. It just goes to show you never know until you try.

Taken on the Pacific Ocean side of the Golden Gate Bridge July 23, 2007. It was quite a hike to get to, my
adventurous girlfriend and I ventured down a steep cliff face to get this one. The birds flying overhead
were in perfect harmony with the waves crashing on that windy summer day. The print was on canvas, the
first time I had a photo of mine printed on that particular media but it ended up looking very lifelike.
