Camera: Canon EOS 5D
Location: Maroon Bells, Colorado

General Info:
The day before arriving in Colorado to lead a photo tour, the Aspen area had their first heavy snowfall, so we got up early
in the morning and drove to Maroon Bells.  We got some great images of Maroon lake with the surrounding fall colors
covered in snow, but we found these snow covered aspens just in a roadside parking lot along the way.
It was a beautiful transition from autumn to winter.

The

"The Path" - 24"x36"

Printer: Epson Stylus Pro 7880 w/Ultrachome K3 Inks
Medium: Epson Premium Glossy Photo Paper
Location: Sunrise Mine Trail, just below Headley Pass, North Cascades, Washington
Camera: Canon EOS 5D digital camera, Canon EF24-70mm f2.8L @ 24mm, 1/60 sec @ f13, handheld
Software: Photoshop CS2, custom profile by Mark Edman

General Info:
The North Cascades are gorgeous in the Fall season.  The conditions for this shot lasted less than 30
seconds and the terrain is very steep.  This shot was taken about 2/3 of the way up the trail on a short
side trail at about 4500 feet elevation.  There are many beautiful scenes along this trail and it
was difficult to pick this one out of all the rest.  It was a little early here for full Fall color.
For scenes that are "on fire" with color, hike this trail in mid October.

Winter

"Winter Fantasy" - 24"x36"

Printer: Epson Stylus Pro 7880 w/Ultrachome K3 Inks
Medium: Epson Premium Glossy Photo Paper
Location: Lake 22 Trail, North Cascades, Washington
Camera: Canon EOS 5D digital camera, Canon EF20mm f2.8, 1/400 sec @ f13, handheld
Software: Photoshop CS2, custom profile by Mark Edman

General Info:
The temperature was about 15 degrees F and it was right after a very heavy snowfall.  We were the first
people up the trail and hiking on snowshoes.  The trail, covered with virgin snow, can be
seen going from the lower left corner towards the evergreen tree in the center.  The deep, smooth
undisturbed snow made many beautiful photo opportunities, but beware of avalanches in this steep area.
